H. Humphrey Etching Vices Overlooked in the New Proclamation EC c 1792

$39.95

This is an etching by H. Humphreys. The original dated 1792.
It is Titled; Vices Overlook'd in the New Proclamation.
To the commons of Great Britain, this representation of Vices which remain unforbidden by proclamation, is dedicated, as proper for imitations, and in place of the more Dangerous Ones of Thinking. Speaking and Writing now forbidden by Authority.

It is quite humorous for the time.

It measures;
Framed 20" x 16.25"
Etching 14" x 10"

The etching is in great condition, a few wrinkles but not bad. The frame is also in great condition. The back might have come loose and is taped. I see it was framed in NY, I do not know if it was originally taped.
